President’s Statement 2017

It is with great honor I take the torch passed to me and accept the role of MNYCA President. I would like to thank the board for their support and encouragement. I would also like to thank the past leaders for working so hard to grow the MNYCA to what it has become today. I am excited to keeping the momentum going and to continue to work to keep the MNYCA a premier resource for our members.

I look forward to continuing the work initiated by Chris Mulcahy to integrate mentorship and internship opportunities for soon to be college graduates as an additional benefit to our members. It is important for us as leaders in the industry to introduce new minds and expertise to possibility of careers in the industry. I will work with the MNYCA Board to communicate that message to our members so we as an association can assist in the longevity of the Metropolitan New York coatings industry.

For several years in a row we have experienced robust turnouts for all our events. MNYCA looks to continue the efforts to solidify networking and industry relationships. It is through these events we keep up on trends, news, and happenings. However, the other side of these events is part of our efforts to give back. It is through the support of our members and the attendance at these events the MNYCA can continue to award scholarships to up and coming members of the workforce. In 2017, we had 17 applicants and we granted 5 awards to outstanding students heading to college. I look forward to seeing the record number of applicants broken for years to come.

For 130 years, this association has supported and encouraged collaborations and forward thinking. It is the continued support of the membership that allows that to happen and it is vital that we as members do our part to maintain the well-being of the coatings industry. It is my wish as President of the MNYCA to continue to facilitate and provide the means for those activities.

Sincerely,
Jason Anagnostis
MNYCA President
